DuPage Valley recap October 22, 2013
Glenbard North extended the longest winning streak in DuPage Valley this week by beating Wheaton-Warrenville South, 37-21. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Panthers.
Lake Park made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,265 from 3,959. The advance stemmed from a 37-14 victory over Glenbard East last week.
The Rams' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Drake Pusateri threw for 108 and 1 touchdown and Joey Moore had 61 yards receiving. On the ground Omar Ayesh contributed 56 yards. Alex Ciszewski helped Glenbard East's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.
Ayesh was the best running back in the league this week. In 9 carries, he ran for 56 yards as Glenbard East lost to the Lancers. Pusateri also contributed to the rushing game with 42 yards on the ground.
Glenbard East's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pusateri has thrown for 818 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Moore has 26 catches for 337 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Wheaton North and Glenbard North. The Falcons comes into the matchup ranked ninth in the state, while Ryan Wilkens' team ranks eighth.
Two of the top teams in DuPage Valley will go toe-to-toe this week when John Walters' team takes on the Tigers. The Rams' offense has racked up 84 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Wheaton-Warrenville South has allowed only 112 on the year.
