Given Salinas' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Hollister is ranked 336th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Salinas' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.7 points per game. As for Hollister, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salinas will challenge Serra at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Serra will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Hollister, they will head out on the road to face off against Palma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
