The North Royalton Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Cleveland Central Catholic Ironmen at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Royalton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
After only 24 points in their last matchup, North Royalton made sure to put some points up on the board against Valley Forge on Wednesday. North Royalton took down Valley Forge 57-43. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 18 to 5 on the offensive boards, as North Royalton did.
Brooklyn Gambino was a one-man wrecking crew for North Royalton as she dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madie Colella, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-18, which was the final score in Cleveland Central Catholic's tilt against Western Reserve Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, Cleveland Central Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 701st, while Western Reserve Academy is ranked 43rd).
North Royalton's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16. As for Cleveland Central Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
