The Wes-Del Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Randolph Southern Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Wes-Del and nine for Randolph Southern.
Wes-Del suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They suffered a rough 61-38 loss at the hands of Frankton. While losing is never fun, Wes-Del can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Frankton is ranked 154th).
Wes-Del's defeat came about despite a quality game from Corben Price, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Trey Adams was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Randolph Southern lost to Winchester Community on the road by a decisive 57-38 margin on January 4th.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ronnie Dotson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Sullivan, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Wes-Del bumped their record down to 3-9 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. Randolph Southern's record is now 1-9.
Wes-Del came up short against Randolph Southern in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 57-48. Thankfully for Wes-Del, Joe Burke (who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
