The Miller Cardinals' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Pierce City Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Miller posted their biggest victory since November 28, 2023 two weeks ago. They claimed a resounding 64-30 win over Sarcoxie on the road. With Miller ahead 41-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Ashlynn Helton, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Loghann Leivan, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Pierce City scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 67-42 margin over Sheldon. The victory was nothing new for Pierce City as they're now sitting on four straight.
Miller has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Pierce City, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.
Miller strolled past Pierce City in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 57-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Miller since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
