The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears were the 65-44 winner over the Walthill Blujays when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was the victim of a tough 72-52 loss at the hands of Walthill on Friday. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-20.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kayton Hall, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Kolby Hansen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
It was another big night for Ethan Parker, who scored 26 points for Walthill. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Phillips, who scored 15 points.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Walthill, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-1.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge will take on Wynot at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Wynot is ranked 111th, while Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is ranked 98th). Walthill will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Omaha Nation on Tuesday.
