Pass Christian is 9-0 against Greene County since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. After a string of five wins, Pass Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 34-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bay.
Meanwhile, Greene County lost to Bay at home by a decisive 47-29 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, Greene County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Bay is ranked 42nd).
Despite the defeat, Greene County had strong showings from Rakhiya Moody, who scored eight points along with three steals, and Saniah McCormick, who scored six points. Moody is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Pass Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-12. As for Greene County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season.
