On Tuesday, Dixie suffered a tough 68-47 loss at the hands of Syracuse. Dixie has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Flyers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaycee Bundy, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Hali Smith, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Dixie struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Avery Sanders continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Syracuse, scoring 29 points along with five steals. The contest was Sanders' seventh in a row with at least ten points. Maylee Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five steals.
Dixie's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Syracuse, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Dixie won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Westlake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Friday. Syracuse will be home for the holidays to greet Timpview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Timpview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
