On Saturday, Mount Notre Dame faced the Mason Comets in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Mount Notre Dame fell 55-46 to Mason. Mount Notre Dame's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Mount Notre Dame lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Laila Harrison, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailee Bransford, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Mount Notre Dame's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3. As for Mason, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Mount Notre Dame will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Ursuline Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Ursuline Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 424th, while Mount Notre Dame is ranked eighth). As for Mason, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Colerain at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
