It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Edgewood Red Wolves can now relate to. They lost to the Tigers on the road by a decisive 48-32 margin on Friday. Edgewood's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Edgewood lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alaina Preble, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Germain, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy was led to victory by Kylie Green and Alinah Sarratt. Green scored 15 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Sarratt went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 0 assists. Sarratt continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.
Edgewood will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Windermere Prep at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Edgewood's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Windermere Prep's offense will have their work cut out for them. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Somerset College Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th.
