The Clinton Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Cumberland Gap 72-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cumberland Gap lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kolton Goins, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Ethan Powell was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Clinton's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Cumberland Gap, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Clinton on the road again on Friday and play against Scott at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Scott is ranked 245th, while Clinton is ranked 269th). As for Cumberland Gap, they will play host again and welcome Union County, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Union County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Cumberland Gap likes a good challenge.
