After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Milford, The Avalon Eagles were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 54-6 victory over Three Way. With Avalon ahead 40-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Avalon found their leader in underclassman Josh Novak, who rushed for 192 yards and five touchdowns on only ten carries. Novak is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last five games he's played. Jake Ozymy was another key contributor, rushing for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Avalon's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-5. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46.33 points. As for Three Way, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Avalon will be playing in front of their home fans against Blum at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Blum is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Three Way, they will head out on the road to face off against Covington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Covington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Three Way in Texas (Covington is ranked 122nd, while Three Way is ranked 259th).
