The Red Mountain Mountain Lions will challenge the Kofa Kings at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Red Mountain is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.
Red Mountain's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Westwood with a sharp 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mountain Lions, who have now won six matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Payton Westra, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Nina Montenegro was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Westra wasn't the only one making solid contact: Red Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Kofa lost 18-3 to Chandler last Thursday. The Kings have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Hailey Alvarez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jazmyn Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Red Mountain's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Kofa, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Kofa's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Red Mountain has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Kofa, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 hits. Given Red Mountain's sizable advantage in that area, the Kings will need to find a way to close that gap.
Red Mountain came out on top in a nail-biter against Kofa in their previous matchup back in March of 2018, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Mountain Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Kings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
