Baseball Recap: Collins Gets the Win

Collins made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Laurel, but still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Collins Tigers' way against the Laurel Golden Tornadoes on Tuesday as the Collins Tigers made off with a 10-1 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Tigers have posted since February 23, 2024.

DERWIN MAGEE was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. MAGEE was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, JAYDEN BUCKHALTER was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Collins' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-1-1.

Looking ahead, Collins will face off against Sacred Heart at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Laurel, they will welcome Heidelberg at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
