While the IMG Academy Gray Ascenders's win against the Fivay Falcons wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came away the winners. IMG Academy Gray sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-49 win over Fivay on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for IMG Academy Gray who now have three in a row.
Fivay's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamarian Miller, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Antwan Brown, who scored eight points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
IMG Academy Gray's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4. As for Fivay, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
IMG Academy Gray will be playing at home against Halifax Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fivay, they will head out on the road to take on Cypress Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Creek is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
