Baseball Recap: Simsboro Extends Winning Streak to Three

Simsboro had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victor by an 11-5 margin over the Downsville Demons. Considering the Tigers have won four games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Chris Harrell, who scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Braylon Gipson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Simsboro pushed their record up to 6-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Downsville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Simsboro will host Choudrant at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Simsboro is facing Choudrant at the right time seeing as Choudrant is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Downsville, they will head out to square off against Union Parish at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Parish has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.25 runs per game on average), something Downsville will no doubt try to take advantage of.
