The McDowell Titans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 90-51 win over Asheville on the road. McDowell has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.
Rylan Parkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 39 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Roby Franklin, who scored 13 points.
Asheville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kendrick Carter, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Carter scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Aidan Shaw, who scored 11 points.
The victory was the third in a row for McDowell, bringing their record for this year to 13-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.33 points. As for Asheville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDowell will challenge Erwin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Erwin: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while McDowell has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season. As for Asheville, they will take on North Buncombe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Buncombe is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
