Softball Recap: South Fork Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

South Fork won the last time they faced Okeechobee and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Brahmans 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Mackenzie Brown spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Elliana Hernandez was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Emma Ortiz, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

South Fork was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

South Fork is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Okeechobee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Fork will host Treasure Coast at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
