The Massaponax Panthers won against the Stafford Indians last Friday with 28 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Massaponax was the clear victor by a 28-7 margin over Stafford. With Massaponax ahead 21-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Donavan Phillips, who rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Massaponax also got a significant boost from Joe Sanders , who ran away from the competition to the tune of 106 yards.
Massaponax now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Stafford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Massaponax will be playing at home against Riverbend at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Riverbend is ranked 42nd, while Massaponax is ranked 56th). As for Stafford, they will head out on the road to face off against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
