The Dublin Fighting Irish stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Toombs County 62-30 at home. Given Dublin's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Toombs County is ranked 451st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tahara Diallo, who scored 25 points along with nine steals. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Nahallie Turnley, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Dublin pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.67 points. As for Toombs County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dublin will challenge Bleckley County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Toombs County, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Twiggs County at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th. Twiggs County has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
