The Kent Denver Sun Devils will square off against The Academy Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kent Denver took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 89-50 victory over Douglas County. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 54-27.

Clay Tierney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 9 on his way to 17 points and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Elvis Lloyd was another key player, putting up six points along with seven steals and five boards.
Kent Denver smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely The Academy's strategy against Skyview on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that The Academy blew Skyview out of the water with a 64-33 final score. The Wildcats pushed the score to 49-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolverines had little chance of recovering from.
The Academy's win came from a few key players Kent Denver will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Trey Boychuk, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Hernandez, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.
Kent Denver's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.8 points. As for The Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Kent Denver and The Academy are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Kent Denver hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 83.9 points per game. However, it's not like The Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 59.1 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Everything came up roses for Kent Denver against The Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 92-48 win. In that contest, Kent Denver amassed a halftime lead of 50-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
