After flying high against the Lawrence Golden Tornadoes on Saturday, the Freeport Red Devils came back down to earth. Freeport took a 39-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Uniondale. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Freeport in their matchups with Uniondale: they've now lost three in a row.
Freeport's loss on Monday came despite strong showings from Jevon Saul and Jaylen Jean-Louis. Saul scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks, while Jean-Louis scored eight points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for Saul.
Even though they lost, Freeport were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Freeport's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Uniondale, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Freeport will head out on the road to face off against Oceanside at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Uniondale, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hempstead at 5:00 p.m. on December 20th.
