There's no place like home for the Morgan Huskies, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They strolled past North Branford with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 72-54. That's another feather in the cap for Morgan, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Morgan had a senior duo take command as Maeve Madura scored 27 points along with six rebounds and Ava Johnson shot 4-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Madura has scored all season. Liliana Luciani was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Morgan has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for North Branford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.
Morgan will head out on the road to square off against Valley Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morgan is facing Valley Regional at the right time seeing as Valley Regional is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for North Branford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Hampton will roll in looking for their 21st straight win, something North Branford surely won't give up without a fight.
