The Hawthorne Hornets stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 66-17 win over North Marion. The win was familiar territory for Hawthorne who now have six in a row.
Jhalea Jackson had a dynamite game for Hawthorne, dropping a double-double on 13 rebounds and ten assists. Jackson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ranicia Coleman, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Hawthorne's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for North Marion, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Hawthorne will head out on the road to face off against Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Gainesville is ranked 132nd, while Hawthorne is ranked 137th). North Marion won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Dunnellon at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Dunnellon will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
