The Coolidge Colts will challenge the Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Coolidge will be strutting in after a win while Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering will be coming in after a defeat.
Coolidge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Woodson with a sharp 13-7 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.
Rodrigo Cabrera-Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off two hits. Cabrera-Garcia was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Jose Leiva was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Fransisco Leiva, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Coolidge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 22-0 to School Without Walls. The match marked the first time this year in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.
Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Coolidge, their victory bumped their record up to 2-10.
Everything went Coolidge's way against Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Coolidge made off with an 18-4 win.
