The Troy Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 49-40 to Greenville. The matchup was a 25-25 toss-up at halftime, but Troy was outscored by Greenville in the second.
Greenville can attribute much of their success to Drew Hamilton, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hamilton has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jack Chick, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Troy has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Greenville, their victory bumped their record up to 3-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Troy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Miamisburg at 7:15 p.m. on January 20th. Miamisburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Troy likes a good challenge. Greenville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bethel at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Bethel is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
