Newton-Conover has been on the road for seven straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Bunker Hill Bears at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Newton-Conover knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Bunker Hill likes a good challenge.
Even though Bandys scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Newton-Conover still came out on top. Newton-Conover slipped by Bandys 56-55.
Newton-Conover had a senior duo take command as Zyon Chambers scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals and Javier Lineberger scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Lineberger hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxton Eckard, who scored six points along with six assists.
Meanwhile, Bunker Hill scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 72-59 win over East Burke. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Newton-Conover has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Bunker Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.
