Football Recap: Denell Johnson and Revin Maldonado Pace Lemont Defense

Lemont had won two straight home games and Aiden Rudman did his part to make it three on Friday. The Lemont HS enjoyed a cozy 29-14 win over the Thornton Fractional North Meteors thanks in part to Rudman, who rushed for 225 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. He has become a key player for Lemont: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Lemont didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Denell Johnson and Revin Maldonado. Another thorn in Thornton Fractional North's side was Jackson Dybcio, who made 14 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Lemont's record now sits at 4-2. As for Thornton Fractional North, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
