The Regis Jesuit Raiders stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Rock Canyon 73-48. Winning may never get old, but Regis Jesuit sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Regis Jesuit's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Coryn Watts led the charge by scoring 19 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Watts hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Hana Belibi, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sienna Pillsbury, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Pillsbury is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Alyssa Goode was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two blocks.
Regis Jesuit is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Rock Canyon, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Regis Jesuit will take on Mountain Vista at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Vista is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Rock Canyon, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Fort Collins at 1:00 p.m. Fort Collins is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.1 points per game.
