St. Mary is 8-2 against Becton since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The St. Mary Gaels will head out on the road to challenge the Becton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully St. Mary is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Becton in New Jersey (St. Mary is ranked 65th, while Becton is ranked 300th).
Last Sunday, things could have been worse for St. Mary, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-43 loss to Ramapo. St. Mary has struggled against Ramapo recently, as their contest on Sunday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Becton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took down Wood-Ridge 80-66. The victory was nothing new for Becton as they're now sitting on three straight.
St. Mary's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3. As for Becton, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Everything came up roses for St. Mary against Becton when the teams last played on January 5th as the squad secured a 78-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Mary since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
