Basketball Game Preview: Tyner Academy Rams vs. Chattanooga Christian Chargers

The Tyner Academy Rams will take on the Chattanooga Christian Chargers in a tournament on Thursday. Tyner Academy will be strutting in after a win while Chattanooga Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Saturday, Tyner Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over North Atlanta, taking the game 48-41. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

It was another big night for Rodney Henderson III, who went 10 of 21 en route to 26 points and seven rebounds. His afternoon made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Felder, who posted ten points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Chattanooga Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-65 heartbreaker at the hands of LEAD Academy. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Panthers are ranked 145th).

Tyner Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Chattanooga Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything came up roses for Tyner Academy against Chattanooga Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 74-33 victory. In that contest, Tyner Academy amassed a halftime lead of 44-15, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
