While it was all tied up 28-28 at halftime, the New Milford Green Wave were not quite the Cheshire Rams's equal in the second half on Saturday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 63-61. New Milford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cheshire apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, New Milford still got an impressive performance from Ryan Esposito, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Esposito has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Armani Checo, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
New Milford are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14. As for Cheshire, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Milford will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Immaculate at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. One thing working in Immaculate's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. As for Cheshire, they will head out on the road to take on Shelton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cheshire is coming into the contest with seven straight victories on the road, so Shelton is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
