Lawrenceburg is 1-9 against Greensburg since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lawrenceburg Tigers will welcome the Greensburg Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
If Greensburg heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Lawrenceburg took over last week. Lawrenceburg took down Jac-Cen-Del 64-45 on Saturday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Eagles are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lawrenceburg had a senior duo take command as Noah Knigga almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds and JP Izzo went 8 for 16 en route to 19 points. That's the most points Izzo has posted since back in November of 2024. Ollie Safaviyan was another key player, putting up eight points.
Lawrenceburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greensburg). Everything went their way against South Decatur on Saturday as Greensburg made off with a 65-40 victory. With that win, the Pirates brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Lawrenceburg better keep an eye on Jack Mckinsey. He was instrumental in Greensburg's win, going 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Jacoby Miller, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points and five assists.
Lawrenceburg's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Greensburg, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lawrenceburg has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 23.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Greensburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 21.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Lawrenceburg skirted past Greensburg 38-36 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Does Lawrenceburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greensburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
