The Escambia Academy Cougars had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They breezed by South Choctaw Academy on the road to the tune of 65-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Escambia Academy has posted since December 4, 2023.
Escambia Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Bell, who scored 18 points. Quinton Odom was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Escambia Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for South Choctaw Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escambia Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wilcox Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 18th. Wilcox Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for South Choctaw Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Snook Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
