Cambridge Christian is 1-9 against Seffner Christian since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lancers will be playing at home against the Crusaders at 3:30 p.m. Cambridge Christian will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Cambridge Christian barely beat Keswick Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lancers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Crusaders a 13-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Lancers have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Trigg Listerman was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braiden Price, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ian Jansen, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Cambridge Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Keswick Christian only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Seffner Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Tampa Prep, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Crusaders couldn't push the score so high this time.
Cambridge Christian pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Seffner Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cambridge Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Seffner Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cambridge Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Seffner Christian when the teams last played back in March, winning 6-3. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
