Morningside Academy barely beat Berean Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Morningside Academy was the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over Berean Christian on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Leigha Race made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero hits, the fewest she's had since back in February of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. As for Berean Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morningside Academy will host Westwood at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Morningside Academy's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Westwood has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Berean Christian, they will welcome Port St. Lucie at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
