A feisty cat fight will be fought as Terrell Tigers challenge Midlothian Heritage Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Terrell has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with four straight losses, while Midlothian Heritage will come in with three straight victories.
Terrell came up short against Crandall on Monday, falling 12-2.
Terrell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vivian Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Meanwhile, Midlothian Heritage got themselves on the board against Crandall on Wednesday, but Crandall never followed suit. They blew past the Pirates 11-0. Considering the Jaguars have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Trinity Chittamai made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Midlothian Heritage got a massive performance out of Amiya VanMeter, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. VanMeter has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Bilderback, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Midlothian Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .583. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February.
Midlothian Heritage's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Terrell, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
