The Greenacres Christian Panthers suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Berean Christian by a score of 68-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (60), Greenacres Christian still had to take the loss.
Greenacres Christian's loss came despite strong showings from David Mine and Joshua Barthelemy. Mine dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Barthelemy dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Barthelemy is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Brendan Daniels was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Greenacres Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Berean Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenacres Christian on the road again on Friday and play against Lincoln Park Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Berean Christian, they will square off against Greenacres Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
