They were dealt a 98-38 defeat at the hands of Nebo Crossing Academy on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.
Nebo Crossing Academy was led to victory by Isaac Grubbs and Morgan Baker. Grubbs shot 8-for-10 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds, while Baker scored 41 points along with six rebounds and five assists. It was the first time this season that Grubbs pulled down eight or more rebounds. Isiah Johnson was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 11 assists and five steals.
Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Nebo Crossing Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.
