Baseball Recap: Phoenix Christian Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Phoenix Christian's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans with a sharp 13-2 victory. Considering the Cougars have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Joel Fajardo spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits.

At the plate, Kevin Palafox was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Sam Shores was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Phoenix Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scottsdale Preparatory Academy only posted a batting average of .167.

Phoenix Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
