Suburban - West recap November 5, 2013
Mehlville moved up to 110 from 139 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Suburban - West. The Panthers were able to move up by beating Oakville 28-25.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Eureka beat Northwest 48-0. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Lindbergh's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chuck Houska threw for 208 and 1 touchdown and Garrett Krueger had 108 yards receiving. On the ground Carl Lovely chipped in 53 yards. Conner Manley helped Lindbergh's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 37 yards.
Krueger was the best receiver in the league this week as the Flyers defeated Parkway South. Krueger tallied 9 receptions for 108 yards. Manley helped Lindbergh's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 37 yards.
Lindbergh's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Flyers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Houska has thrown for 2,533 yards and 24 touchdowns this season, while Krueger has 48 catches for 1,132 yards.
Two of the top units in Suburban - West will face off this week when Lindbergh takes on Eureka. Tom Beauchamp's team's offense has racked up 267 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Wildcats have allowed only 159 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Eureka takes on the Flyers. At the moment, the Wildcats are in first, while Lindbergh is in fourth.
Mehlville and the Tigers played the closest game in the league this week, with Mehlville eventually emerging with a 28-25 victory.
