Mitchell Labrado Turns in Season-Best Performance
Sadly, Mitchell Labrado posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Laguna Creek over Elk Grove on Friday. Labrado threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 38 yards. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023. His passing game has become a key predictor of Laguna Creek's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise.
For the season, Labrado has thrown 4 touchdowns while averaging 139.2 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 5.6 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 17.8 rushing yards.
