The Gatewood Gators will take on the Brentwood War Eagles at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday.
Gatewood's offense might be in the hot seat  on Friday considering what happened against Edmund Burke Academy  on Friday. They lost  20-0 to the Spartans. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Brentwood waltzed into their game  on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cavaliers 46-16. The War Eagles' offense checked out after the first half but had enough  points banked to take the game anyway.
Gatewood better focus on containing  Tristan Robinson and  Baylor Cobb as the pair were huge in Brentwood's win. Robinson gained 126 total yards and four touchdowns, while  Cobb threw for 140 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave  Cobb a new career-high in  rushing touchdowns (two).
 Brentwood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Cobb and  Grady Boutelle.
 Brentwood's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Gatewood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
 Things could have been worse for Gatewood, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took  a  45-27 loss to Brentwood in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of   Robinson, who rushed for 127 yards and a pair of  TDs on only 12 carries, and also caught one  score.
