The Suwannee Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Santa Fe Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Suwannee will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Suwannee beat Columbia 10-6.
G Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jace Moran, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Koy Frier, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe got the win against Osceola on Friday by a conclusive 11-5.
Evan Christmas was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. He has become a key player for Santa Fe: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Weber, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.
Santa Fe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Suwannee pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Fe, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.
Suwannee might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Santa Fe in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can Suwannee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
