After flying high against the Citrus Hurricanes last Friday, the River Ridge Royal Knights came back down to earth. River Ridge took a 27-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fivay on Friday. River Ridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fivay apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Lane Bache threw for 149 yards on 11 of 18 attempts. Carson Cooley was his top target, picking up 67 receiving yards. On the ground, Deanthony Patterson rushed for 49 yards.
Fivay's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samuel Monfre, who picked up 148 receiving yards and a touchdown. Monfre's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Ayden Wallace was another key contributor, throwing for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes.
River Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Fivay, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Ridge will take on Cypress Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 166 points over their last four matches. As for Fivay, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hudson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hudson is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
