Abington moved up to 57 from 98 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in South Shore. A 29-15 win over Canton helped the Green Wave improve their standing.
East Bridgewater was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to third in the league. The Vikings vanquished Bishop Stang 46-12 earlier in the week.
Cohasset's Chris Haggerty and Rocco Laugelle have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Haggerty has thrown for 116 yards this season, while Laugelle, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has four catches for 51 yards. Mashpee's Jared Taylor leads the league in rushing yards with 219.
A big matchup in South Shore this week will be when Abington takes on the Skippers. At the moment, Jim Kelliher's team is in first, while Cohasset is in sixth.
East Bridgewater took down the Spartans 46-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
