Forsyth had lost five straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 5-16 to make it six. They fell just short of the Cotter Warriors by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since March 28th.
Lauren Turner put in work no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in May of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs.
Turner wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Hagey, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Georgia Barnett also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
As for Cotter, their record is now 12-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 4, 2025.
On Cotter's side, Myah McNutt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 16 Ks. McNutt has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Avery Rice and Gracyn Jackson did most of the damage at the plate: Rice went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Jackson went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Riley Brotherton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forsyth will square off against Strafford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cotter, they will challenge Alpena at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
