Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Classical Academy). They were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the St. Joseph Academy Crusaders on Tuesday. The Caimans haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Gezylah Key made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Key was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Sophia Miller was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isabel Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Classical Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The victory got Classical Academy back to even at 3-3. As for St. Joseph Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
