The Nova Titans will challenge the Coral Springs Charter Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Nova has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Nova after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Pine Crest, falling 14-4.
Eli Steckler led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Anthony Amaya, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coral Springs Charter). They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Taravella on Thursday.
Nolan Mianowski made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
In other pitching news, Coral Springs Charter got a great performance from Edward Canard as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Canard a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Johan Valbuena, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.
Nova's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Coral Springs Charter, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Nova has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Coral Springs Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Nova skirted past Coral Springs Charter 5-3 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
