The Sequoyah Chiefs won the last time they faced the Creekview Grizzlies, and things went their way on Friday too. Sequoyah came out on top against Creekview by a score of 40-27.
Sequoyah was led to victory by Addison Ghorley and Carly Bass. Ghorley scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Bass scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Bass hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Creekview's loss came despite strong showings from Amilya Taft (sy) and Callie Cavender. Taft (sy) scored seven points along with eight rebounds, while Cavender scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Sequoyah has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Creekview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.
Sequoyah will head out on the road to challenge West Forsyth at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Creekview won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cherokee at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th. Cherokee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Creekview likes a good challenge.
